It is particularly known because it is a place where many young people go to party and enjoy happy hours in the evening, but during the day you can enjoy the lively beach, go shopping in the boutiques and there is also plenty of choice in restaurants. For the little ones it is a nice beach where you can easily walk without high waves and currents.
Grote Knip
Snorkeling | Natural beach | Local
One of the most popular beaches can be found on the west side of Curaçao; The Grote Knip, also called 'Playa Kenepa Grandi'. It is about an hour's drive from TUK. When you arrive at the beach you have a beautiful view of the white sandy beach and the clear blue water. The beach is surrounded by trees and forest, so there are many shady spots. There is no entrance fee and you can bring your own food and drinks. That is why we often enjoy a delicious barbecue in the evening. We recommend combining this beach with beaches such as Playa Lagun or Kleine Knip that are close to this beach.
Playa Kalki
Westpoint | Natural beach | Raft
Playa Kalki is one of the westernmost beaches on the island, at the very end of the Weg naar Westpunt.
From the parking lot you walk down the stairs to the beach, restaurant and diving school. On the beach you can rent beach beds and lounge beds or get a wonderful massage.
The nice thing about this beach is that there are 2 rafts in the water with chairs on them that you can easily swim to.
There are some stones on Playa Kalki to walk into the water, but with water shoes on you won't have any problems at all.
The beach has recently been renovated with the new restaurant "Cast Away" where they have Happy Hour every Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Playa Lagun
Turtles | Snorkeling | Local
It is one of the smallest, but also one of the most beautiful beaches in Curaçao; Playa Lagun! This beach is about 50 minutes from TUK. With the beautiful tropical fish and corals it is the perfect spot for snorkeling! With a bit of luck you could even swim among the turtles. You can also come here for a snack and a drink. If you walk up the stairs you will arrive at Bahia Beach Bar where you have a beautiful view of the sea.
Cas Abao Beach

Cas Abao is located on the south coast of Curaçao, about a 45-minute drive from TUK Jan Thiel. There is plenty to do on this beach! There is a diving school, a beach bar for snacks and drinks, you can take a ride on a banana boat or rent a canoe, and you can even get a massage by the sea. Just the road to this beach is quite an experience, because in these 40 minutes you drive along the Jan Kok Bay where you can spot flamingos and you also pass the beautiful church of Sint Willibrordus. Playa Porto Marie is located on the south coast of Curaçao and is known for the beach with the pigs. They walk around here to occasionally take a refreshing dip in the sea water, or to look for snacks;) There is also plenty to do here, so you can enjoy a snack and a drink on the spacious terrace on the water, you can relax on the beach beds or admire the underwater world by snorkeling.
